What can you calculate with these business tools?

These 11 calculators cover the core numbers behind day-to-day business decisions: pricing (margin, markup, discount), taxation (GST at the 0%, 5%, 12%, 18% and 28% slab rates), profitability (profit, commission), marketing spend (cost per click and cost per thousand impressions), and financial health (cash ratio, debt ratio, depreciation). Each tool shows its formula, a worked example with real numbers, and answers to the questions business owners actually search for.

What is the difference between margin and markup?

Margin is profit as a percentage of the selling price, while markup is profit as a percentage of the cost. A product bought for $80 and sold for $100 has a 20% margin but a 25% markup — the same $20 of profit measured against two different bases. Mixing the two up is one of the most common pricing errors in small businesses; use the Margin Calculator and Markup Calculator to convert between them precisely.

Who are these calculators for?

Shop owners setting prices, freelancers quoting projects, accountants checking GST amounts, marketers budgeting ad campaigns, and students learning business math. Every calculator is free, requires no sign-up, and runs entirely in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Divide the inclusive price by (1 + GST rate) to get the base amount, then subtract. For a ₹1,180 price at 18% GST: base = 1,180 ÷ 1.18 = ₹1,000, so the GST portion is ₹180. The GST Calculator does both inclusive and exclusive calculations at every slab rate.

A net profit margin around 10% is generally considered average, 20% high, and 5% low — but it varies widely by industry. Grocery retail often runs below 5% net margin, while software businesses can exceed 20%. Use the Profit and Margin Calculators to benchmark your own numbers.

Rather than chasing platform averages, calculate backwards from your own economics: divide the profit of one conversion by the number of clicks needed to get it, and that is your maximum affordable CPC. The CPC and CPM Calculators let you compare campaign costs on a like-for-like basis.
